FSU football: How to watch Boise State game and best bets
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football will open their season Saturday in a noon game against Boise State. Here’s the best way to watch the game and my best bets.
It’s a huge game for FSU football. If they win this game it could become a domino effect for the rest of the season.
Sadly, a loss could have the same result but in a negative fashion. The game moving from Jacksonville to Tallahassee has changed the game time and how it will air on TV.
Now the game will take place at 12 p.m. and will air on ESPNews instead of ESPN.
It can also be streamed via the WatchESPN app. We also have these options:
FSU football has sold a decent amount of tickets since the game has been moved so it should be a decent crowd in the stands considering the circumstances. I’m expecting a crowd of around 50,000 or maybe slightly over that.
The game being played at noon and in Tallahassee could have some impact on the Boise State team. They will not be used to he Florida heat and humidity at that time of the day for sure.
Will the Broncos fade in the second half under the heat and tempo of a Kendal Briles offense? How will starting a true freshman impact their offense?
The betting line is now -7 with the over/under total at 55 according to Bovada. That means oddsmakers are expecting FSU football to win 31-24.
This is a tough line because there are so many unknowns. How good is FSU’s offense going to be under Kendal Briles in their first game? Boise State will feature a decent defense too.
Will Boise State be able to put points up against a talented defense like FSU with a true freshman under center?
I’m not sure I’d touch the spread, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see FSU pull away late. If I were going to bet this game I’d take the UNDER 55.
I think FSU’s defense will be able to limit Boise State and season openers are usually sloppy. I expect Boise State to try to run the ball as much as possible.
FSU will look to run the ball a lot too which should keep that clock rolling.
