FSU football: Top 10 true freshmen of the last decade
By Kelvin Hunt
Dalvin Cook
What can I say, the greatest running back in FSU history made his presence felt in his true freshman season being names Freshman All-American by multiple outlets.
He set the then FSU rookie rushing record in 2014 with 1,008 rushing yards on 170 carries for an average of 5.93 ypc.
Cook also was effective in the passing game with 22 receptions for 203 yards. The crazy thing is Cook didn’t play in the season opener against Oklahoma State. He only had one carry in the 2015 game against Clemson in which Jameis Winston was suspended.
It took Cook a while to pick up the blocking aspect of things, but he finally began to put it together in his fifth game against Syracuse.
Cook finished the season with five 100 yard rushing games, including three consecutive 100 yard games to finish the season.
He basically set the FSU football rookie(then) rushing record in only 10 games and that’s why he’s No. 1 on this list.
