FSU football: Will 4-star running back Lawrance Toafili choose Noles?
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football added a blue chip 2020 running back to its commit list. Could a second one be on the way with Lawrance Toafili?
Some FSU football fans were beginning to question the staff a couple of weeks ago when it came to recruiting running backs.
The Noles signed three-star running back Anthony Grant in 2018 and didn’t sign one in 2019 which meant they need to land at least two for the 2020 recruiting class.
A little over a week ago the Noles hasn’t signed one yet and things were not looking up. However, visit and commitment shortly thereafter from four-star Jaylan Knighton changed everything.
In fact, long time FSU running back target Lawrance Toafili changed plans and visited the Noles with his family shortly before the dead period began. News has now broke that he’ll announce his commitment between a variety of schools late Wednesday night:
He holds 18 offers from a ton of big time programs. Toafili will be choosing between the likes of FSU, Ohio State, Florida, Auburn and Michigan Wednesday night with FSU holding 100 percent of the 247 Crystal Ball predictions at this time.
Toafili is the No. 165 ranked player overall and No. 13 running back in the 2020 class. He’s considered the No. 28 player in the state of Florida.
Thoughts
Toafilo has said FSU is his dream school and it’s the school he visited last(with his family too).
FSU football does need at least one more running back in this class and could potentially take one more provided it’s the right fit.
I can see him fitting in nicely with what Kendal Briles likes to do on offense. He can run with power as well as be effective catching the ball out of the backfield.
Should the Noles land Toafili FSU football fans will need to bow down to FSU running back coach Donte Pimpleton as it would be the second blue chip in-state running back landed in a week.
