FSU Football: 3 hidden areas Noles need to improve in 2019
By Kelvin Hunt
Conclusion
See how all these hidden things tie into winning? The next time you’re watching a game and the offense gets in the red zone. Please remember it’s vital to score touchdowns instead of field goals.
If a team has good field position they have to take advantage of it. A prime example that comes to mind is the bowl game against Houston in 2015.
The Noles got the ball at mid-field with JJ Cosentino at QB and proceeded to lose yards and punt because Cosentino wasn’t prepared to play.
That was a huge opportunity to put the Noles head in that game and establish some momentum. Good teams make bad teams pay in those types of situations.
To make matters worse the Noles punted and had a touchback when they could have pinned Houston deep in their own territory.
It’s all about the little things but the Noles were not well coached and were too undisciplined to execute in these areas last year.
That’ll need to change if they want to right the ship and get back to consistently winning 10+ games a year.
