FSU Baseball right now has maybe the best duo starting games and a fresh bullpen for Omaha

When you look at what the Seminoles have done this postseason over the last six games, it’s almost a wonder how they have allowed 19 runs over that span because the duo of Drew Parrish and CJ Van Eyk starting the games has been lights out most of the time.

You’re taking about a duo of starters for the Seminoles that is averaging over three strikeouts for every walk issued – and over his two starts in the regional and Super Regional rounds, Van Eyk has put himself in a position to be one of the first pitchers drafted next year by a Major League Baseball franchise.

What the quality starts over the span have done has also made things easier for the bullpen – a group that over the five games has an earned run average of just 1.13 over that span. You take that kind of number to Omaha and there is no doubt that the Seminoles will be an early favorite to make a deep run.

The Seminoles have been burned by deep pitching teams before – so being able to be a team like that for the first time will be a welcomed change.
