Amari Gainer

It was a big deal when local product and legacy recruit Amari Gainer committed to the Noles in 2017.

It was thought he could be a small contributor last season as linebacker was a position with little depth.

However, he fractured his first the first day of fall camp and ultimately missed time before appearing in four games and then redshirting.

The good news was he appeared later in the season and got some experienced against some solid competition.

The linebacker position has better depth and more talent, but it’s still a position that should see a number of players getting playing time.

Gainer is someone who can play a couple of roles for the Noles and can be a player on special teams. I can see him being solid against the run or coming off the edge to rush the quarterback in the star role.
