FSU baseball knows who they will face in their College World Series opening game and it’s their third SEC opponent in a row.

FSU baseball (41-21) has knocked off two strong SEC programs on the road en route to their first College World Series appearance since 2017.

The team learned Monday night they’d be facing their third consecutive SEC opponent in the No. 5 national seed Arkansas Razorbacks (46-18).

Arkansas finished second in the SEC West Division, three wins better than LSU who the Noles just dispatched. For reference, FSU’s other Super Regional opponent Georgia finished second in the SEC East standings with one more conference win than Arkansas.

The game will begin Saturday, June 15th, at 7 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN. FSU beaten the No. 4 and No. 13 national seeds in postseason play thus far.

Thoughts

It’ll be double elimination bracket play until the finals best two of three format. FSU baseball has a fairly decent draw as they’ll face either Michigan or Texas Tech in game two.

Obviously, beating Arkansas in game one is imperative as that gives them leeway in not facing elimination right off the bat in game two.
