Here’s a preview of FSU baseball and their next game during the 2019 season.

If you are a fan of the FSU baseball team, you have been impressed at what took place over the last four games entering this weekend – from run ruling their ACC tournament finale to sweeping through the Athens Regional last weekend, it has looked like the Seminoles were playing as if they were a team possessed with the idea of sending their coach out in style.

It was a team that played like hot garbage to open the Super Regional round on Saturday – but for a four inning period to end the game, the Noles played like a team that has one thing set in their minds: making quick work of their foes and getting back to Omaha for a chance at one final ride for No. 11.

Now, the Seminoles have just one more task left to do: win one of their next two games for that chance to head back to the state of Nebraska and get a chance to be one of the final teams standing for a shot at the title.

Here’s our preview of this week’s game between the Seminoles and their foe during this week of action.

The Last Time The ‘Noles Took The Field

The story of how the FSU baseball team – which has now won five games in a row and now has won 40 games in every season under head coach Mike Martin – came back to defeat LSU can be told pretty simply in two parts. Part one would be the first five innings as the Seminoles could not get a hit off of either Tigers pitcher while LSU got a run in each inning over a four inning stretch.

After getting their first hit and first run of the game in the top of the sixth inning, the Seminoles struck gold in the seventh inning when sophomore right fielder Reese Albert hit one out of the ballpark to tie the game at four runs each.

One inning later, it was the hero from last weekend that did the trick again as left fielder Tim Becker hit what turned out to be the game winning RBI on a sacrifice fly. Albert hit a solo shot in the ninth inning to help the Seminoles close things out as J.C. Flowers pitched two shutout innings to seal the win and quiet the fans in Baton Rouge.

Interesting Fact

In the 21st season in which the Super Regional round has taken place, the FSU baseball team added to their record setting mark by making it back to this round for the 17th time this season – and judging by the way things took place, the Seminoles are in decent shape for a trip back to Omaha if they suffer a loss Sunday night.

In the previous times before that the Noles have been to supers, they have dropped game two of the series after winning game one a total of three times before. In 2000, the Seminoles defeated rival Miami in three games while doing the same thing in 2010 against Vanderbilt. The only time the Noles lost games two and three was in 2016 against rival Florida.
