FSU Basketball: Could Terance Mann reunite in NBA with former Nole?

Former FSU basketball star Terance Mann has been traveling the country to work out for different teams, but his latest spot saw a reunion with a former Nole.

In the past few weeks, the world of former FSU basketball stars Terance Mann and Mfiondu Kabengele have been just like an episode of the 1990s hit kids show Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego – as the two former Seminoles have gone across the country trying out for a variety of professional basketball teams ahead of the annual draft.

From Phoenix to Los Angeles and New York City to Atlanta, both former Noles have been getting ready for the end of this month and the annual NBA draft – where both players could be selected, including Kabengele possibly being picked in the later parts of the first round depending on what mock draft you look at.

For Mann, his time with FSU basketball was capped by leading the Noles to their third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament and second straight year playing in the second weekend – and during one of his more recent visits, he had a chance to meet up with someone who was his teammate during the first postseason journey.

Mann recently spent time doing an individual workout with the Orlando Magic, a team that drafted former Seminoles star Jonathan Isaac with the sixth overall pick in the summer of 2017 after Isaac’s one season leading the Noles into action before his last two seasons in Orlando – which included a playoff spot this past season.

In an interview with the Orlando Sentinel after his practice, Mann talked about what his fellow FSU basketball alum had to say to get him ready for whichever team picks him.

"“Be vocal. He wasn’t too worried about me being vocal and being aggressive on the defensive end because he knows that’s what I bring. But he was telling me to make sure I bring that out of me and show everybody that I’ve got that, because that’s sort of what everyone is looking for.”"

Whichever team goes out and picks Mann is going to get the same type of player that they saw when he put on the garnet and gold for the Seminoles: a baller who is going to give you as many minutes as possible to prove all of his potential.

The Seminoles know that they are going to have work to do filling his sneakers this coming season, but being able to watch him compete at the next level will be something special – even more special if it is indeed with another former Nole.
