Dennis Briggs Jr.-Defensive End

Dennis Briggs Jr. came to the Noles as the No. 324 player and the No. 25 defensive tackle in the 2018 class.

He played in four games before redshirting last season and recorded two tackles, one quarterback hurry and one pass breakup.

I’ve already hit on the need for depth at the defensive tackle/end position and Briggs seems like the most sure option to provide that considering he saw game action late last season against Boston College, Notre Dame and Florida.

Briggs is checking in at 6’4″ 260 pounds which is big enough to set the edge against the run.

However, Briggs has shown some flashes in pass rushing and can play in either a 4-3 or 3-4 formation.

Briggs has played with a high motor in the past and that energy will be valuable when coupled with the energy Marvin Wilson, Cory Durden and Robert Cooper played with last season.

There’s Kaindoh, Robinson and Leonard Warner vying for a spot at defensive end so Briggs should see an increased number of snaps in 2019 in the two-deep lineup.
