Sacks allowed

It was a combination of the offensive line being terrible and Deondre Francois holding the ball too long sometimes.

The ‘Noles allowed the quarterback to be sacked 36 times last season which was ranked No. 109 in the nation.

Now, the FSU offense did face some solid defenses but that’s a ton of punishment for a quarterback to take.

Let’s not talk about the times the quarterback was crushed just as he delivered a pass. FSU quarterbacks were sacked on average once every 12.6 pass attempts.

What’s even scarier is there were a number of games were opposing teams had large leads and likely went to a more base defense and didn’t try to apply as much pressure.

James Blackman has better pocket presence than Francois and Kendal Briles will likely adjust for the offensive line deficiencies with his playcalling.

I expect this number to go down in 2019.
