FSU Basketball fans are just as excited about Malachi Wideman’s decision to commit to the Seminoles because of what it could mean inside the Tucker Center.

Just four days ago, the FSU football team was jumping for joy with the news that Malachi Wideman – a four star wide receiver recruit in the 2020 signing class from Sarasota – was committing to the Seminoles at this time. But, it wasn’t just football fans who were freaking out as much as it was those who cheer for FSU basketball.

While recruiting insiders knew this much information about Wideman, the average sports fan might now know that he is just as much of an amazing athlete when it comes to basketball as it does football – and if he’s even close to being in the same conversation, both FSU football and FSU basketball will be doing just fine.

Anyone on the basketball side who needs a little bit more proof can take a look at this video released from the Miami Herald earlier this week, showing the FSU football commit dominating during a summer league in Las Vegas when he played on the same team as the son of former NBA star Dwyane Wade.

In this video, watch Wade and another NBA legend – somebody who is the all time G.O.A.T. with the name LeBron James – admiring what they are seeing on the court.

Yeah…if you are rooting for either the Seminoles on the football field or on the basketball court (hopefully, you’re doing both), the thought of seeing Wideman doing his thing in either sport and leading the Noles to greatness no matter what the sport is should make you smile bigger than many things have in the past few seasons.

Now, while Wideman has not “publicly” made it clear that he is going to play for head coach Leonard Hamilton and FSU basketball during his time, sources told the Tallahassee Democrat that he would indeed be playing inside the Tucker Center for the winter and a portion of the spring months during at least three seasons that he is also playing football for the Noles.

The time will come soon enough where Wideman is going to be wearing No. 14 for the Seminoles inside Doak Campbell Stadium – and hopefully, inside the Tucker Center as well.
