FSU football is staying busy on the recruiting trails evaluating new targets and touching base with others.

FSU football has done a great job of recruiting thus far considering the season they had in 2018. They already have some important spots in its 2020 class nearly complete.

They’ve got a talented blue chip quarterback in Jeff Sims, a deep group of defensive backs and three solid linebackers.

However, they still need to hit areas like wide receiver, running back, defensive linemen and offensive line.

The Noles have a nice selection of targets for the latter and seem to be in good shape for a couple of those targets. They have three star offensive lineman Zane Herring in the fold and he’s recruiting hard for the Noles.

They are still in desperate need for offensive tackles and look to be trying to fill that void.

FSU offensive line coach Randy Clements offered four-star offensive tackle Nate Anderson Friday night.

Nate Anderson is the No. 139 ranked player nationally, the No. 15 offensive tackle and the No. 17 ranked player in the state of Texas.

Yes, I’m aware I’ve talked about FSU football winning the state of Florida in recruiting. The only problem is Florida doesn’t produce a ton of great offensive linemen.

The good news here is Randy Clements has ties to the state of Texas from his days with Houston and Baylor.

Thoughts

Offensive line continues to be one of the most important needs in the 2020 recruiting cycle. It’s good to see Coach Clements being able to use some of his connections in Texas to begin to establish a relationship with Anderson.

In-state schools like Baylor, TCU and  Houston have offered along with the likes of UNC, Boston College, Missouri and others.

Former FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher has gotten Anderson to visit Texas A&M twice since December 2018 so that will be something to keep an eye on.

Anderson would be a huge be a huge pull if he were to commit to the Noles. It’ll be interesting to see if and when they can get him on campus, but it’s nice to see them targeting some blue chip players along the offensive line.
