FSU football got its quarterback for the 2020 recruiting class with Jeff Sims. I discuss the impact he will have on the ‘Noles program.
FSU football got off to a slow start with the 2019 recruiting class. They didn’t secure a commitment from a quarterback until April and lost that commit in December.
They still don’t have a 2019 quarterback commitment, but things are looking good with four-star quarterback Lance LeGendre.
However, after a full recruiting cycle the FSU recruiting staff is in a much better position to hit the ground running with the 2020 class.
They’ve already extended over 150 offers and secured the commitment of Jeff Sims Saturday who’s one of the best quarterbacks in the class.
It wasn’t a total surprise as FSU football offered him just over a week ago and he immediately scheduled a visit as he resides in nearby Jacksonville.
The 2020 recruiting class could make or break Willie Taggart’s future at FSU. He did an excellent job of salvaging 2018, but going 5-7 and missing a bowl put a lower ceiling on what was possible with the 2019 class.
It’s a solid class, but it’s not one that will allow FSU football to compete for a national title. However, a solid 8-9 regular season in 2019 will allow him to do work on the 2020 scene, and having one of the best quarterbacks already committed could change the game.
