Marvin Wilson

Marvin Wilson is the last five-star defensive tackle the Noles have signed in quite some time.

Have you noticed a trend in this piece? I’m definitely not Ed McMahon on Star Search because all the stars were right here in Tallahassee.

Marvin Wilson can be a dominant defensive tackle and is good enough to get drafted high if he’s able to avoid injuries.

He missed almost the entire offseason with a knee injury and took some time to get into game shape. However, the began to flash the potential his five-star rating projected as he got healthy.

Wilson finished 2018 with 42 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He also had four QB hurries and one forced fumble.

The Noles have consistently put defensive tackles in the NFL the past decade. Demarcus Christmas, Derrick Nnadi, Eddie Goldman, Tim Jernigan, Everett Dawkins have all been drafted since 2013.

Marvin Wilson was able to be dominant at times his sophomore season. However, with a healthy offseason I expect that dominance to be more consistent with another year in the weight room and experience under his belt.
