FSU Football: 5 players that could be drafted in 2020
By Kelvin Hunt
Stanford Samuels III
Stanford Samuels III former four-star recruit who’ll be entering his junior season at FSU. Samuels had a weird sophomore season which incorporated a lot of variables.
He was injured in fall camp and begin the season at less than 100 percent while also making the move from cornerback to safety.
The move was made because of depth/personnel issues at safety and Samuel’s coverage ability was thought to be the best move at the time.
However, the injury and learning the nuances of the position didn’t yield the results one hoped and Samuels has moved back to his more familiar cornerback spot.
Despite the lackluster season, Samuels III was fourth on the team with 58 total tackles and had a team leading four interceptions.
He has the size and length NFL teams prefer at 6’2″ 185 pounds and plays more physical than he looks.
A strong 2019 as the boundary corner should place him in a good position to be selected should he forgo is senior season.
