FSU baseball (25-14) got back on the winning track with a come from behind win over Stetson Tuesday evening. We discuss the ugly win.

FSU baseball found itself in a two run deficit before their hitters ever came up to bat Tuesday night.

It was a back and forth battle with the Noles answering with three runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Noles scored another trio of runs in the bottom of the third to take a commanding 6-2 lead.

However, Stetson responded with three more runs in the top of the fourth inning to close the gap to 6-5 before the Noles added another run in the bottom of the fourth.

Things got interesting in the top of the seventh as Stetson brought across two more runs to tie the game at 7-7. However, the Noles answered with two runs of their own to make it 9-7 going into the final frame.

J.C. Flowers came on for the save but gave up a hit and hit a batter in the top of the ninth. Stetson plated a run before Flowers was able to seal the deal for the ‘Noles 25th win of the season.

The Noles were led by multi-hit games from Mike Salvatore and Matheu Nelson. The latter had two RBI’s with Nico Baldor driving in two runs as well.

Reese Albert connected with a moon shot in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The story of the game was FSU’s ability to eventually drive in eight runs with two outs. FSU’s pitching had 13 strikeouts with the FSU defense committing four errors in the game.

It was a Johnny Whole Staff effort with six different pitchers making an appearance for the Noles.

I suppose the pitchers felt like they had to strikeout every batter to get an out the way the defense was playing. It’s been a common theme as FSU baseball has committed 53 errors on the season.
