Rosters for the FSU football spring game have leaked. One player says the Gold roster is better than the Garnet.

The much-anticipated FSU football spring game is merely a few days away and the long football drought will be over for at least a couple of hours.

It’ll be a great opportunity to see some facets of the Kendal Briles’ offense in live action with the quarterback many wanted to play last season in James Blackman.

Some of the positional changes on defense will be on display as well with Levonta Taylor playing safety and Hamsah Nasirildeen playing linebacker.

Which young players who redshirted last season will emerge to make their presence felt? Will former blue chip recruits that have been injured or buried on the depth chart standout?

More importantly how will James Blackman perform int he Kendal Briles offense? It looks like he has some stud receivers to throw to but will he have time behind the offensive line?

Redshirt sophomore Deonte Sheffield believes the Gold team is the team to beat.

Thoughts

The Gold team does have the most experienced quarterback in Blackman and receivers like Tamorrion Terry, Tre’Shaun Harrison, Warren Thompson and Tre McKitty.

Defensively they have three potential starters in Marvin Wilson, Cory Durden and Joshua Kaindoh on the defensive line.

They don’t have a lot of experience at linebacker, but the secondary is loaded with Stanford Samuels III, Asante Samuel Jr, Carlos Becker, Akeem Dent and A.J. Lytton.

The Garnet team will be led by Jordan Travis and Nolan McDonald at quarterback. Cam Akers and Khalan Laborn will be at running back. They might have the edge on the offensive line with Landon Dickerson and Dontae Lucas anchoring things.

Linebackers will be Dontavious Jackson and standout true freshman Jaleel McRae. The secondary will feature experienced players like Kyle Meyers, Levonta Taylor and Cyrus Fagan.

All in all it looks like they’ve mixed the teams up pretty well talent wise. Do you agree with Deonte Sheffield regarding who has the better team?
