FSU basketball will say goodbye to several players who made an impact on the program of late, and one took the time to show his appreciation for everything.

When you think of the history of FSU basketball, some of the names that come to mind are some of those who dominated on the court and helped build the program into what it is today – names like Dave Cowens, Sam Cassell, Bob Sura, Dwayne Bacon and so many more over the 70+ seasons that the Seminoles have been playing.

When the books are written about all that history, the name Terance Mann will be the next one to be mentioned as one of the greats to wear the garnet and gold as he was part of just the fourth senior class in the history of FSU basketball to play in at least three straight NCAA Tournaments during their career.

Over the course of the last two seasons – following the departure of Bacon, Jonathan Isaac and Xavier Rathan-Mayes to the professional game following the 2017 appearance – Mann has been…well, the “man” that head coach Leonard Hamilton has been able to turn to as the leader of the Noles on the court.

While the end of the season didn’t turn out the way that many in the FSU basketball family would have wanted – a loss in the Sweet 16 round to Gonzaga – Mann showed the class and leadership that we all saw on the court when he posted a heartfelt message on Twitter thanking the coaches, teammates and FSU family for his four seasons.

There is no question that when it comes to the combination of leadership and maturity both on and off the court, Terance Mann is second to none when it comes to players who have suited up for FSU basketball over the years.

It will not be easy to replace Mann’s talent and leadership both on and off the court, but it would be a lesson that anyone in garnet and gold would be wise to learn and copy to help continue the success of the Seminoles.
