FSU football got exactly what it needed when Alex Hornibrook announced he was transferring to the Noles. We have the fan reaction.
FSU football fans have been complaining about Willie Taggart and staff not being able to land a high school quarterback the last two recruiting cycles.
All that complaining may not matter now that QB depth has been addressed in via the transfer market.
Former Wisconsin quarterback Alex Hornibrook announced he’ll be transferring to Tallahassee after graduating from Wisconsin in May.
Hornibrook visited the Noles over the weekend with his father and must have come away impressed enough to pull the trigger on the decision.
Ring, Ring, Ring. Great phone call for the Noles. Go Noles! #DoSomething pic.twitter.com/JAXbe8ujwD

Twitter Reaction
What are y’all complaining about? I’ll take a guy with 32 games experience, a 26-6 record and an Orange Bowl W.

With the addition of former Wisconsin QB Alex Hornibrook, #FSU has added veteran depth behind James Blackman... good move for Willie Taggart, especially the way the #Noles protect QBs

Quick Thoughts
That last tweet says it all really. FSU football was in dire straits with depth at the QB position. They have a capable starter in James Blackman, but everyone else on the roster is either a walk-on or not eligible to play in 2019.
Hornibrook is immediately eligible to play as a graduate transfer and will arrive this summer with time to get important reps in the Briles offense.
He’s not exactly a perfect fit for the offense, but proven experience is hard to come by and he was 26-6 as starting QB at Wisconsin. Some folk are concerned about his lack of mobility, but that’s not a necessity in the Briles’ offense.
It’s mostly about decision making with the ability to get rid of the ball quickly coupled with the ability to push the ball downfield on vertical routes.
The addition of Hornibrook puts FSU football in good spot going forward regarding the QB position.
The concern of depth is addressed and James Blackman will have real competition this summer and fall to push him to avoid complacency.
