FSU basketball took their eight game winning streak to Chapel Hill and got smashed. Check the recap of the game below.

1st Half

No. 16 FSU basketball took its eight game winning streak into the Dean Dome at Chapel Hill looking to take out No. 8 UNC who was coming off a huge victory over Duke earlier this week.

The Noles kept it close the first 11 minutes or so before UNC went on a quick run to stretch the lead to 13 with six and a half minutes remaining.

UNC crashed the offensive boards well in the first half which led to a number of second chance points. FSU basketball took a lot of ill-advised shots which led to their 35.5 percent shooting percentage.

However, FSU basketball went on a 16-6 run to close the half with UNC leading 37-34. David Nichols led the Noles with 11 points off the bench in the first half. FSU only had five turnovers in the first half.

2nd Half

UNC point guard Coby White got the Tarheels off to a hot start with back-to-back buckets. A three-pointer by Cameron Johnson put UNC up eight with 17 minutes to go. FSU basketball just seemed out of sync coming out the second half.

A Colby White layup forced Leonard Hamilton to call timeout with 15:55 remaining and down 10 points. Terrance Mann scored back-to-back buckets to cut the lead to five with 13:21 to go. A ridiculous flagrant-1 foul was called on Terrance Mann for barely tugging a jersey that resulted in four point possession for the Tarheels(two free throws and a jump shot on the possession).

A pair of David Nichols free throws cut the lead to six points with 11:31 remaining. The two teams traded baskets, but a deep banked-in three pointer(it was luck) by Luke Maye from the top of the key put UNC up 12 points with nine minutes remaining.

A Cameron Johnson three-pointer seemingly put the game away with 6:58 remaining and FSU down 67-52.

UNC would go on to pull away and beat the Noles 77-59.
