FSU Football: Superlatives for 2019 recruiting class
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football brought in a solid recruiting class after a terrible season. We take a look at the superlatives for a class that stuck together.
The season FSU football had made it tricky regarding how things would shake out this recruiting cycle. A 5-7 regular season with six blowout losses should have spelled disaster.
However, the coaching staff was able to hold on to most of its better committed players and met every team need except quarterback.
This class has been about No. 16 for a long time and is comparable to Clemson’s class on a per player average.
Here’s a run down of superlatives for the 2019 class:
Biggest Surprise-Akeem Dent
Dent is the highest rated player in the 2019 signing class and was already enrolled in spring classes on National Signing Day.
However, if you would have put bets out a year ago if that would be the case there would have been a lot of folk lining up to put their bids in.
Dent was a former Miami Hurricane commit who committed to the Noles in July 2017 prior to Willie Taggart’s arrival. Most folk thought his commitment was far from secure as he was one of the top players and had previously been committed elsewhere.
The Noles had to hold off Alabama down the stretch but Willie Taggart was able to get Dent secretly signed during the early signing period and enrolled early.
