The bright spot is Florida State has hit the ground running on the 2020 class, and yes this actually includes a quarterback. Jeff Sims, the 6’3″, 195 pound quarterback from Jacksonville, Florida, will likely be one of the nation’s top quarterback prospects in the 2020 class. He is listed by 247sports as pro-style and is considered a hard commit to Florida State at this point.

He appeared on The Sports Den 1010 XL in Jacksonville, hosted by former Seminole James Coleman, now a sports journalist, and his co-host Denny Thompson and stated that not only is he locked in to Florida State but that he also wants to help recruit for the Noles to help turn things around.

"“They told me they wanted me to be the alpha dog of this class. I’m trying to build this class up”."

Other commits thus far considered hard commits include four star linebacker Keyshawn Green from Crawfordville, Florida, four star safety Jadirus McKnight, four star defensive back Demorie Tate, four star cornerback Isaiah Dunson, and four star linebacker Stephen Dix, Jr. The class is ranked third in the Atlantic Coast Converence, and eighth nationally per 247 Sports.

The 2020 class seems incredibly optimistic about being the change Florida State needs, and truly seems to bond with the coaches. The issue is whether the 2019 season can show enough improvement over 2018 to keep the class stable and avoid what Florida State has had to endure losing recruits in 2018 and now 2019.
