FSU football looks to add even more stud players to the class of #Tribe19, and here are the stars who put pen to paper on Wednesday.

It’s the moment that college programs across the country like FSU football have been waiting for each year for decades: the first Wednesday of February has been the day where high school players from across the country traditionally announced which college they were going to attend to continue their career on the gridiron.

While some of the attention has been taken away by the early signing day that has taken place the past few seasons, there will be hundreds of players that wait until this moment to decide on their school that will end up having a major impact on the program they end up signing with.

For FSU football, the early signing period netted a total of 11 players who signed with the Seminoles and six of those already enrolled in classes in Tallahassee to get ready for spring football.

Five more players were committed to the Noles entering Wednesday, with head coach Willie Taggart hoping to land some of the top undecided players in the country.

4:00 PM UPDATE

OT Ira Henry / 6’5″ 320 lbs. (St. Louis, MO / Trinity Catholic)

Henry was a FSU/Auburn battle just like Kaamar Bell who he went on several recruiting trips with. Henry is a physically ready offensive tackle who can play guard too which is a plus. He’s the second offensive tackle FSU has landed from the high school ranks in this class.

1:30 PM UPDATE

DE Quashon Fuller / 6’2″ 281 lbs. (Cape Coral / Lehigh)

There was a slight thought that maybe Fuller might head somewhere else, but in the end FSU football came up with one of the top players in Southwest Florida and someone who will continue the trend of top defensive ends heading to Tallahassee.

He doesn’t have the length of a Brian Burns, but has the speed and size to come off the edge and compliment the assorted ends already in the program.

10:30 AM UPDATE

DB Travis Jay / 6’2″ 176 lbs. (Greenville / Madison County)

Jay was someone FSU football had been worried about losing around the time of the early signing day, but he committed to the Seminoles and has stuck with it to become the next defensive back to sign with the Noles.

Jay is a nice sized player who showed speed on both offense and defense for the Cowboys last season, which means it might not be all that surprising to see him get some run on offense when needed during his career with the Noles.

K Ryan Fitzgerald / 6’0″ 185 lbs. (Coolidge, GA / Colquitt County)

A big right leg, Fitzgerald committed to the Seminoles after his official visit last month – and with the ability to boot kicks from 50+ yards like it did on the regular in high school, there might be a battle brewing on special teams for the Noles in the coming season.

Fitzgerald spent time as both kicker and punter in high school, a huge plus with the fact that both kicker Ricky Aguayo and punter Logan Tyler are entering their final seasons with FSU football.

9:45 AM UPDATE

OT Darius Washington / 6’4″ 285 lbs. (Pensacola / West Florida Tech)

The Seminoles can’t have too many bodies on the offensive line after what took place last season, and this Sunshine State product will provide length and strength. Washington had been a long time commit to Mississippi State, but at the last minute chose the Noles over Miami.

The three star prospect has been rated as one of the top 30 offensive tackles in the country and took a visit to FSU football at the end of January.

8 AM UPDATE

DB Brendan Gant / 6’1″ 193 lbs. (Lakeland / Kathleen)

FSU football continued their trend of bringing in secondary players for this year’s class with a four star All-American who had committed to the Seminoles since last summer. Gant was ranked as the 11th best safety in the country last season by 247 Sports.

Gant played a physical style of defense last season for the Red Devils and could be in the conversation when it comes to early playing time in the 2019 season. His father played college football at Grambling State while his uncle, Kenny, won two Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990s.

Keep your computers glued to Chop Chat on Wednesday to see which players will be wearing the garnet and gold next season.
