FSU Football: 3 positives of hiring Ron Dugans on staff

David Kelly is arguably the best recruiter on the FSU football staff, but Ron Dugans is no slouch on the recruiting trails either.
It’s going to be interesting to see if Willie Taggart finds a way to keep David Kelly in a on the field role to take advantage of his recruiting prowess.
Neverthless, Ron Dugans has proven he can land some top receivers in his time at Miami and has strong ties to South Florida. Here’s a list of some players he’s landed:

- Mark Pope (4-star)
- Bryan Robinson (4-star)
- Sam Bruce (4-star)
- Brian Hightower (4-star)
- Ahmmon Richards (4-star)
- Dionte Mullins (4-star)
- Deejay Dallas (4-star)
- Marcus Fleming (4-star)
- Mike Harley (4-star)
- Marquez Ezzard (4-star)
At least seven of these players were rated in the top 150 players NATIONALLY according to 247Sports.
If Dugans could acheive these things at Miami, what do you think he’s going to do at FSU? They have better facilities coupled with the angle of achieving what he was able to achieve as a WR at FSU. That’s winning a national championship and getting drafted by an NFL team(Dugans was a third round draft pick in 2000).
It should result in FSU being able to land higher caliber wide receivers more consistently. That should lead to more production on the field with proper coaching.
