Jimbo Fisher Puts Up Points Against Brent Venable Defenses

Listen, FSU football fans can dislike Jimbo Fisher all they want. I don’t care for him since he stop recruiting in 2017 and put the Willie Taggart at a serious disadvantage when he took over.

Nevertheless, Jimbo Fisher has proven he can absolutely put up points against a Brent Venables defense when he has a good quarterback.

Well, he had Jameis Winston in 2013 and lit Venables up that year as they averaged 7.7 ypp that year. Some may say that was just Venables second year at Clemson.

Let’s look at 2016 when FSU football had a much less talented redshirt freshman quarterback in Deondre Francois.

The Noles averaged 7.12 ypp that season which was the year Clemson won their second national championship.

Did Clemson have arguably the best defense in the nation in 2018? Absolutely! However, Alabama offense that wasn’t nearly as good as that 2013 FSU team averaged 6.65 ypp in the first half of their game Monday night.

What do you think 2013 FSU would have done?
