Conclusion

Willie Taggart couldn’t afford to NOT show any progression towards getting FSU back to elite status in 2019 on the offensive side of the ball.

He went out and hired the best offensive coordinator he could hire and it’s someone with a proven track record who runs the offense the way he wants.

That’s worth the risk compared to not having a job at his dream school in two years because he wasn’t willing give up some control.

For FSU, it’s worth the risk because the university will not make any money on a football team that goes 5-7, 6-6 or even 7-5 every season.

It’s not an acceptable standard at FSU and fans will voice their displeasure by not renewing season tickets. Nobody wants to spend their hard earned money traveling to watch a team that gets blowed out every game.

That not only affects the university, but it also affects the businesses in Tallahassee and beyond.
