Discipline

FSU football special teams have to be one of the most undisciplined units I’ve ever seen. It seems virtually impossible for a kickoff or punt to be returned without a flag being thrown.

The sad thing is if by chance the Noles do return a kickoff or punt for a long gain the first thing FSU fans do is expect a flag to be thrown.

FSU football is the second most penalized team in the NCAA FBS with 88 penalties through nine games.

The Noles are averaging virtually 10 penalties per game for 78 yards. I would say at least 30-40 percent of these penalties occur on special teams.

It’s down right ridiculous how undisciplined special teams have been this year. The Noles already have committed more penalties through nine games than all of last year combined and equal to the same amounts from 2014 and 2015.

Until they can address those issues, they simply need to eliminate those issues by fair catching every kickoff. It’ll give the offense better field position on average and give the Noles the best chance to score points.
