Deondre Francois Isn’t Improving

Deondre Francois has struggled in almost every game this season aside from the Wake Forest game where he still had a slow start.

The overall thought was Francois’s experience and ability to use his legs is what gave him the edge over James Blackman even though he missed all spring rehabbing his knee injury.

However, that hasn’t been the case as Francois is still missing reads in the RPO game and isn’t a threat at all to run with his legs as he looks like he’s lost a step due to the knee injury.

It’s true Francois has thrown for a lot of yards on the season, but most of those yards have come against terrible defenses. Not to mention Francois has as many interceptions thorough eight games as he had in all of 2016.

The offense just doesn’t seem to be improving when they go up against teams with a semblance of a defense.

With Francois hey scored three points against Virginia Tech, three points against Clemson, seven against Syracuse, 21 against Miami and 37 against Northern Illinois.

If Francois can’t be consistent in the passing game against good teams and make the right reads in the RPO game after eight games, it might be time to make a change.
