The college football season is now in full swing, so let’s take a stab at trying to make some money starting with week 9.

Our college football betting took a huge loss last week as we finished in the red going 1-4 on the week. We had some terrible luck with the UNC/Syracuse game going into double overtime otherwise we win that bet easily.

NC State just didn’t show up and Duke either had a bad game or Virginia is legit, and it’s probably a little of both I guess. It’s just another week of see sawing between winning and losing big it seems!

We stand at 18-21-1 on the season.

RECAP

Duke -7 vs. Virginia (Loss)
NC State +17.5 vs. Clemson (Loss)
FSU vs. Wake Forest-UNDER 60 (Win)
ECU vs. UCF –OVER 64 (Loss)
UNC vs. Syracuse-UNDER 67 (Loss in Double OT)

So let’s not waste any more time and get right into our top 5 bets of week five. All lines are from our partners at OddsShark.com.

  • N.C. State -2 vs. Syracuse
  • Texas -2 vs. Oklahoma State
  • Boston College +3.5 vs. Miami
  • Colorado St. +1.5 vs. Wyoming
  • FSU vs. Clemson-UNDER 51

Quick Write Up

  • NC State has the better quarterback and skill position players. Syracuse’s defense can get after the QB but NC State will nullify that by getting rid of the ball quickly.
  • Texas has the better offense and has played the tougher schedule with more success.
  • Boston College at home on “Red Bandanna” night is a death knell plus they get their star running back A.J. Dillon back. Miami will start Malik Rosier who’s nothing special at QB. I look for Boston College to wear down that Miami defense with the run game and keep it close and possibly win outright.
  • Wyoming averages 15 points per game. Yea, I’ll take Colorado State with the points.
  • Clemson’s defense will definitely limit FSU’s offense. The question is can FSU’s defense slow down Clemson’s offense enough and I think that answer is yes. A score of 31-17 would be a winner here and that’s about what I think will happen.
