FSU football dominated the Demon Deacons after a slow start to the game. We recognized five Noles who shined against Wake Forest.

I asked if the Noles would finally put together a complete game in all phases prior to the Wake Forest game.

They were close, but I’d have to dock them a couple of point for that horrific start in the first quarter. Frankly, they seemed to be on the verge of being blown out prior to the failed fourth down attempt by Wake Forest.

It was the right gamble by Wake Forest’s coach and had they scored a touchdown on that drive it would have been a steep uphill climb for a team and crowd that would have been demoralized.

However, momentum swung quickly in favor of the Noles when Brian Burns was able to sack the Wake quarterback and it was a different ball game after that point.

They covered a double-digit spread (-10) for the second time this season.

We have to qualify it by saying it was a sub-par Wake Forest team, but the Noles took care of business the way they were supposed to for the first time in forever.

In fact, FSU has struggled to beat Wake the past two seasons having to defend last second hail mary’s to win each game.

There were a number of FSU players who balled out, but I want to recognize the top five who shined Saturday.
