Noles Shut Down Greg Dortch

I think I heard the announcers say Dortch was coming off an ankle injury, but he was a non-factor nonetheless.

We mentioned him as the No. 1 option the Noles needed to try to contain as he accounted for about 44 percent of their passing offense.

He was limited to just four receptions for 24 yards during the game. It should be noted Wake Forest played a solid portion of the game with their backup quarterback who was pretty raw as passer.

However, the ability of FSU to make Wake Forest basically one-dimensional was a big key in their success of limiting his role.

The most amazing stat is Wake Forest attempted 54 passes on the day and Dortch only had four receptions. There could have been a time when he wasn’t in the game for stretches, or either the Noles nullified him so well it seemed as though he wasn’t out there.
