Deondre Francois

I thought quarterback play would be a strength for the Noles coming into the 2018 season. However, I wouldn’t exactly call it that as Deondre Francois has been pretty hit or miss through six games.

Yes, he’s thrown for a lot of yards but has struggled mightily with turnovers and poor completion percentages in conference play.

He’s completed just 55 percent of his passes and five of his six interceptions have happened in ACC Conference play.

He has shown little improvement in pocket presence  and the inability to show improvement in picking up Willie Taggart’s offense.

This offense is going to go how Deondre Francois goes and is dependent upon him making the right reads in the RPO game.

That’s something he’s still struggling mightily with through six games. Yes, I understand the offensive line has not been the best, but they have given him more than enough time to make a play in most of the games.

If the offensive line doesn’t hold up, Willie Taggart has instructed him to take off and use his legs but we’ve yet to see much of that either.

Francois of all the players needs to raise his level of play if the Noles are going to get to that six win mark in 2018.

He needs to make better decisions in the RPO game, use his legs more and stop turning the ball over so much.
