FSU Football: Key matchup battles for Miami Game
For once, I can say I don’t feel too confident going into this FSU football game vs Miami as we have struggled to get anything going all season.
FSU football has had a problem this season against inferior teams and Miami is not an inferior team. After a rough loss against LSU in Week 1, the Hurricanes have handled business these last 4 weeks.
Granted, they have played inferior talent but they do what they’re supposed to against those teams – unlike what we have shown thus far. If the ‘Noles want to win , they have to use some match-ups that are in their favor.
FSU Football TE Tre McKitty vs Miami’s Striker
Miami has a position very similar to FSU’s STAR, the striker is also a linebacker/safety hybrid role currently held by Romeo Finley, who recorded a pick six last week. McKitty has a chance to cause problems for Finley as he’s done to opposing defenses all season.
At 6’5″ and 245 pounds, McKitty has four inches and 45 pounds on the man who will get the duty of covering him for most of this game. McKitty has played well this season and should be a key focus point of the offense again this game, due to athleticism and size.
FSU Football defensive line vs N’Kosi Perry
While Perry has played well so far this season, this will be his first real test. Perry will be playing against the best athletes he’s probably ever seen in live game action. We have to get after him and make him play like a freshman. Perry has turned the ball over 3 times in a little over a game and a half, so expect us to blitz like crazy and force the young QB to make decisions quicker than he’s accustomed too.
WR Tamorrion Terry vs. Michael Jackson
I like Terry over just about any corner in the nation and Michael Jackson is one of them. Terry just continues to find ways to make plays. Jackson is a good corner, there’s no doubting that but Terry is just different. Physical enough to catch balls most WRs wouldn’t even attempt and has the speed to take the top off a defense. We need to take deep shots early with them because the way our offense is set up is it’s boom or bust. So we need to boom as much as possible.
Score Prediction
34-17, Canes. Though everything I said sounds good, we have yet to look competent enough to beat a team like Miami. I think we will start out strong but the Canes end up pulling this one off, unfortunately.
