FSU Football: 5 areas that separate the Noles from Miami
By Kelvin Hunt
Explosive Plays
We’ve talked about FSU’s offensive struggles and how Miami’s offense hasn’t played anyone other than the LSU loss where they averaged just under five yards per play.
Both have average to terrible success rates and are largely inefficient but the Noles hold an edge when it comes to explosive plays.
FSU football ranked No. 30 in marginal explosiveness whereas Miami is ranked No. 2. However, when comes to ISO PPP explosiveness the Noles are ranked No. 15 and Miami is ranked No. 51.
However, both defenses have the propensity to give up explosive plays so something’s got to give Saturday afternoon.
If I had to pick between both offenses, give me the one with the more experienced QB that’s more explosive when they do make a play.
This game is all about the little things for FSU. If the Noles can avoid turnovers, dumb penalties on stay in manageable third down distance it’s possible they could pull off the upset.
