College Football Betting: Chop Chat’s top 5 bets of week 2
By Kelvin Hunt
The college football season is now in full swing, so let’s take a stab at trying to make some money starting with week 2.
Our college football betting got off to a decent start in week 1 as we finished in the black with 3-2 overall record. However, it could have been a clean 5-0 sweep had we gotten a couple breaks to go our way.
Here’s a quick recap of last week:
- Michigan/Notre Dame-UNDER 47 (Won)
- Wake Forest -7 vs. Tulane (Lost)
- WVU -9.5(bought half point) vs. Tennessee (Won)
- Miami vs. LSU-UNDER 47 (Loss)
- FSU vs. Va Tech-UNDER 57 (Won)
So let’s not waste any more time and get right into our top 5 bets of week two. All lines are from our partners at OddsShark.com.
- Clemson -12 vs. Texas A&M
- Nebraska -3.5 vs. Colorado
- Georgia Tech -3 vs. USF
- Nevada vs. Vanderbilt-UNDER 63
- UNC -14 vs. ECU
Quick Write Up
- Clemson’s defense is legit and we’ll likely see more Trevor Lawrence in this one at QB for Clemson. A&M doesn’t have the horses on offense or defense yet to contend.
- The Scott Frost era will officially begin this week after having their game postponed last week. That does give me caution as Nebraska will surely have some hiccups and jitters to sort out. However, Frost knows offense and I think they cover this small spread in a shootout.
- USF gave up near four yards per carry against an Elon team that only completed like six passes last week. Georgia Tech keeps the ball away from USF’s offense and wears them down to cover the field goal.
- Vanderbilt will have the edge in the trenches and will establish their run game, playing keep away from the Nevada offense that will have trouble scoring in the red zone. A running clock and field goals are a under’s best friend!
- ECU is flat-out terrible on both sides of the ball and UNC started to click in the second half against California last week.
There you have it ladies and gentlemen. Remember, to bet responsibly and good luck!
