The offense will be carried in large part by Cam Akers in 2018 just as it was in 2017. The FSU freshman rushing record holder will be featured in an offense tailor-made for him to break off explosive plays.

Akers averaged 5.3 ypc last season against a ton of stacked defensive fronts. That should be mitigated by a better passing game and the way FSU splits out its receivers to create more space for runners to find running lanes.

He should also be more of a threat out of the backfield in the passing game as this offense likes to get its playmakers in space too.

I think Akers should rush for near 1,400 yards and 10 touchdowns and could get near 20 receptions for 250 yards.

He’ll share carries with Jacques Patrick, Khalan Laborn, Amir Rasul and Anthony Grant. However, that also means less wear and tear and the ability to be fresher late in games against gassed defenses. Look to hear Cam Akers’ name on repeat in the 2018 season.
