Penalties

We have harped on this the past few years until we are garnet in the face. FSU football has to clean up this area of their game.

They get penalized way too much, and it has cost them dearly in several games the past few years. The scary part? Oregon was dead last as the most penalized team in college football in 2017 with 122 penalties.

It was better for Coach Taggart in 2016 at South Florida where they were penalized 83 times which was No. 83 in the nation.

They had 79 penalties at USF in 2015 under Willie Taggart. The good news is those last two totals are quite a bit less than what FSU averaged under Jimbo Fisher.

However, I’m not quite sure why Oregon was penalized so much in 2017. To be fair, FSU football has a new defensive coordinator and offensive line coach which are areas where most penalties are generated.

Hopefully the Noles can improve in this area and not shoot themselves in the foot like years past.
