Even though FSU football has owned Virginia Tech historically, their fans always try to find a way to get in our mentions.
Usually Virginia Tech fans chirp about two things when it comes to FSU football, bowl games and their terrible “DBU” claim.
The latter isn’t even worth talking about as FSU has produced far more notable defensive backs over a longer period of time, not to mention the greatest of all time (Deion Sanders) and the current best in the NFL (Jalen Ramsey).
That leaves the college bowl streak. Listen, FSU football has the longest active college bowl streak in the country I don’t care what the NCAA says.
Has FSU went and played in 36 consecutive bowl games? Yes. Has that streak been interrupted at any point? Nope.
THE REAL #DBU 🔥

Thoughts
Not only has FSU football had a longer bowl streak than anyone else, but its bowl record is light years better than Virginia Tech too.
FSU has a bowl record of (28-16-3) while Virginia Tech is under .500 at (13-18). Come on, how can you even begin to brag about making bowl games when you’ve lost the majority of them?
Also, let’s be honest. Their last five wins in bowl games have come against: Arkansas, Tulsa, Cincinnati, Rutgers and Tennessee. They haven’t exactly set the world on fire in those wins either as the average win margin was 11.2 points.
The good news is FSU football will get another shot at showing Virginia Tech what’s up in the 2018 opener on September 3rd. The two teams will square off for the first time since FSU went up to Blacksburg in 2012 and won 28-22.
