Former FSU wide receiver Bobo Wilson is looking to make the the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster for the second consecutive season.

FSU alum Jesus “Bobo” Wilson is the epitome of hard work pays off as he enters his second year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Wilson was an undersized wide receiver who became a productive wide receiver for the Noles during his four years with FSU football.

He improved his numbers every year until his senior season that saw other options emerge with redshirt freshman Deondre Francois taking over under center.

Wilson went undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent. He was waived at the beginning of the season and signed to the practice squad.

However, he got an opportunity to be signed to the active roster in November and played in three games with one start. Wilson caught a 18 yard touchdown pass for his first career NFL reception and only target of the season.

Now Wilson is vying to make the Buccaneer roster again and has had a strong training camp with several great catches that can be seen here, here and here.

Thoughts

Wilson has received a lot of glowing reports coming out of practices thus far but there’s only 1-2 spots left  when it comes to receivers.

The good news is he spent all year with the organization last season so the coaches know what he’s capable of and he appears to have gotten better. Although undersized, he’s always shown the ability to make tough catches and that skills has translated to his time with the Buccaneers.

Just check that link above if you haven’t already. Also, having former FSU quarterback Jameis Winston as the quarterback who Wilson played with his sophomore season could give him a slight advantage too.

Here’s to hoping Bobo Wilson can finish strong and make the 53 man roster.
