Defensive Backs Improved Over 2017

I know you’re reading that statement and could be caught by surprise. Yes, it’s true the Noles lost a lot of experience and talent in Derwin James, Tarvarus McFadden, Nate Andrews, Trey Marshall and Ermon Lane.

However, it’s arguable that Derwin would be the only player of those mentioned to start in 2018 with this new coaching staff.

The Noles will have two absolute dawgs in Levonta Taylor and Stanford Samuels III at cornerback with players in the mix that can play both safety and cornerback.

Carlos Becker is a player that comes to mind and don’t forget Cyrus Fagan, Jaiden Woodbey and Hamsah Nasrildeen at safety.

Kyle Meyers and A.J. Westbrook provide a ton of experience not to mention a few of the top rated defensive backs that just enrolled as true freshmen.

Players like Asante Samuel Jr. and A.J. Lytton could see snaps in the secondary as the season progresses.

The fact this unit will have Harlon Barnett with his hands on approach to improve technique and situational tactics automatically boosts this unit over last year.
