FSU Football: Improved or not, how will Nole units compare to 2017?

FSU football had an uncharacteristic season in 2017, but all that negativity could have resulted in what’s best for the Noles long-term.

FSU football would like to forget what happened in 2017 with a team ranked preseason top five but struggling to make a bowl and finishing with a winning record.

There’s no question last season was an anomaly, just look at the first half of the Alabama game. With a coaching staff that’s engaged and with its starting QB that team could have played with anyone in the country.

However, last season did happen but the narrative is drastically different from what it should be. I’m more bullish on this team than some and it’s a combination of things.

Frankly, I think folk have forgotten just how much talent Willie Taggart inherited, not to mention they will have two quarterbacks with starting experience.

Yes, the schedule is tough, but I don’t think it’s as tough as some would lead you to believe. Outside of arguably Clemson and Notre Dame, FSU football will have the most talented team on the field when they play.

Of course, that was the deal last year and having more talent doesn’t always equal winning. But when coaches are holding players accountable and players are holding one another accountable that’s a different story.

Since there seems to be a lot of questions about this 2018 and how well they will do I wanted to talk about where they may be strong or weaker compared to last season.

Here we go.
