FSU recruiting is looking good for the 2019 class, but the staff is also putting in work for 2020 and beyond.

FSU recruiting is gearing up for its huge recruiting event on July 28th when around 100 recruits across several recruiting classes will be in Tallahassee for Willie Taggart’s “Saturday Night Live” event.

It’ll be a spectacular event with invitations to the best of the best from each class with the coaching staff opening the event up to the public for free.

The Noles have good momentum on the recruiting trails with several blue chip players thought to be interested in playing in Tallahasse.

The good news continued Monday night when five-star 2020 running back Kendall Milton announced his top 10 list of schools with FSU recruiting making the cut.

Thoughts

It’s always great to be in the mix for an elite player. Milton is the No. 10 ranked player and the No. 2 ranked running back.

He has already visited Tallahassee in March which is great since he’s a west coast kid. The other good news is there’s only one true west coach school listed in his top 10.

That means distance likely isn’t a huge deal for him. The other important thing regarding Milton is FSU’s need for running backs in the 2020 class.

Cam Akers, Amir Rasul and Khalan Laborn will be eligible for the NFL Draft or graduating after the 2020 season.

FSU only signed one running back in the 2018 class and doesn’t have any commits for the 2019 class. They are in the mix for a few but it’s not a huge need since FSU’s current stable of backs are relatively young.

However, that could play into FSU’s favor with Milton as he could come in and play immediately as a true freshman much to the same way Dalvin Cook and Cam Akers were able to although both were early enrollees.

It isn’t clear if Milton would be an early enrollee candidate, but he’d be an elite talent to add at a position of need in 2020.
