FSU recruiting is in the mix for a number of talented blue chip players. One of them tweeted about the mindset the coaching staff is looking for.

FSU recruiting is going very well under Willie Taggart with one of the highest ratios of blue chip players committed in the nation.

Coach Taggart spoke about how he wanted to get the Noles back to the days of when they were dominating everyone in the late 80’s and 90’s and how it took having certain types of players to do that.

Taggart called the defensive players “war daddies” because they were out there dominating and competing at the highest level possible.

That’s what he and the staff are trying to recruit to FSU in today’s times, and it looks like they are doing a great job of identifying those types of players.

Enter four-star safety Nick Cross who’s the No. 57 ranked player and No. 4 ranked safety in the nation according to 247 Composite rankings.

He is a high priority target for FSU recruiting who visited Tallahassee for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

Check out what he tweeted:

Thoughts

That’s Cross commenting on his experience of competing at The Opening where all the best players are selected to compete.

The word compete is something you will hear FSU coaches repeatedly use in film study, practice and prior to hosting their camps.

That’s the mentality winners like Jalen Ramsey have and you see how it’s paid off for him in the NFL. The mentality to go against the best or whoever is lined up against you and win every single rep.

That’s the mentality needed at FSU, players holding one another accountable for going hard and making one another better.
