Is FSU football one of the most overrated programs in history?
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has a lot of haters but it’s no surprise this hate is coming from a website covering the SEC Conference.
I can’t tell you how many times I tried not to write this post about an SEC website calling FSU football one of the most overrated teams in college football history.
What do we expect it’s coming from a SEC website right? Let me also point out only ONE SEC school is listed in the top 10, a SEC school that just became a SEC school a hot second ago.
Let me be clear this list is trash even if FSU football wasn’t listed. How is Tennessee, Auburn, LSU or Georgia not listed but FSU is?
The Noles have a better all-time winning percentage and better bowl winning percentage, plus more national titles that have all taken place since most of us were born unlike most of theirs.
Did I mention FSU has more Consensus All-Americans than any of those SEC schools too?
All of that while being around for like half the amount of time as all of these others.
Check out this hot mess they wrote:
"The Seminoles can take solace in knowing that rival Florida was very close to occupying this space. They also could claim that it was mostly one decade, the 2000s, that put them here if it wasn’t for last season as well."
Thoughts
I feel terrible for even bringing any attention to this wackness, but I wouldn’t have been able to live with myself without dropping some facts down to prove my point.
Should FSU football have more than three national championships? Absolutely, but I suppose they are referring to the period FSU fans call the “Lost Decade” where the Noles went (95-48), 66.4 percent wins.
You know, the 10 year period where FSU never missed a bowl game or had a losing season. However, expectations are so high in Tallahassee winning only 66 percent of your games isn’t good enough.

Since then, the Noles have simply gone 75-19, winning 80 percent of their games with a national championship in the mix.
Oh, did I mention the Noles have always played one of the toughest schedules in the nation too?
I rest my case.
