FSU football has adopted the phrase heading into the 2018 season, and the head man explains that its roots go back to his time in high school.

Since Willie Taggart took over as the head coach of the FSU football program last December, the Seminoles have adopted his spirit and his drive to make the Noles one of the top teams in the game once again – while also preaching accountability among the players, coaches and everyone else associated with the program.

In the six months since Taggart has been in charge, the popular phrase Do Something has been all over the Seminoles program. From social media to signs inside the team’s facilities, it’s two words that have taken over Tallahassee and everyone who is wearing garnet and gold.

Now, the FSU football leader is revealing where it came from – and what it means to him.

During a recent booster tour stop near his hometown of Palmetto, Taggart told members of the Seminole Clubs in Sarasota and Manatee county that the phrase goes back to his time at Manatee High School and a former teammate who used the phrase all the time.

Taggart told the group (h/t Tampa Bay Times) that it stuck with him as a phrase that sums up what he has strived to do in life.

"“I just look at myself, my journey, I never blamed anyone,” Taggart said. “I never made any excuses for me not being successful. I just worked my tail off, and I try to instill that in our players as well, because they’re all capable.“So that’s been my motto my entire life: Blame no one, make no excuses. You’ve gotta do something.”"

In his short time as the leader of FSU football, Willie Taggart has been someone that all of those in Seminole Nation can be proud of with his leadership, humble nature and true love for being with the program. From growing up not having much and having to work for everything, those are lessons that will only help make everyone associated with the program better.

If those players, coaches and everyone else involved with the Noles truly want to do right by their head man, they should continue to follow his advice and do something.
