FSU softball beat UCLA twice Sunday to earn its first WCWS Championship appearance against Washington.
FSU softball (56-12) tied a record for elimination games faced in postseason, ironically beating UCLA twice who they now share the record with.
It’s the first time FSU softball will play for a National Championship with the best of three series against Washington beginning tonight at 7 p.m. ET.
The second game will take place Tuesday, June 5th, at 8 p.m. ET. The third game (if necessary) will take place Wednesday, June 6th, at 8:30 p.m. ET.
All of the games will air on ESPN.
The Lady Noles playing for the National Championship helps ease the sting of the loss FSU baseball suffered Saturday afternoon. It seemed to give FSU fans a boost on social media.

Thoughts
No. 5 seed Washington (52-8) beat No. 4 seed Oklahoma twice and No. 1 seed Oregon once en route to face the Lady Noles for the National Championship.
It should be noted Oklahoma was the two-time defending champion. Washington won the WCWS in 2009 and made the WCWS the past two seasons.
FSU softball exploded on offense in its last five games with the entire lineup getting into the action. They’ve scored 26 runs over its last four games and had 14 extra base hits over its last five.
If the Lady Noles continue that level of offensive production and get solid pitching they’re going to be awfully tough to beat.
FSU’s offense has been slightly more productive and features more power than Washington.

However, the pitching staffs look closely matched with both teams featuring arms that can dominant opposing offenses.
Here’s to hoping the Lady Noles can bring that natty back to Tallahassee!
