Less Quarterback Sacks

That was foreshadowing at its finest huh? The FSU offense has gotten clowned for how its quarterback has gotten destroyed the past couple of years.

Some of that is on the offensive line and some is on the quarterbacks holding the ball forever.

Let’s take a look at the number of sacks both Fisher and Taggart offenses have allowed the past two years:

  • Fisher-68 sacks (8.8 percent of 766 pass plays last two years)
  • Taggart-40 sacks (5.9 percent of 669 pass plays last two years)

It’s pretty bad when opposing teams and rivals could make a highlight tape of your quarterback getting smashed to show prospective recruits huh?

It looks like those days are long gone with Taggart’s run heavy offense. Not to mention the way they spread the field limits some of the pressure defenses can bring on blitzes.
