FSU football will face a tough opener when they host Virginia Tech – but the father of one linebacker doesn’t seem to think it will be a problem.

In just over five months (and they can’t go fast enough) the FSU football team will take the field for the first time under new head coach Willie Taggart in a game that counts when the Seminoles will host the Virginia Tech Hokies – and one of the nation’s best defenses last year – in a Labor Day primetime showdown for the whole nation to see.

Even with spring practice just getting underway this week, there is a sense from the Noles family that everyone is buying in to the #DoSomething approach of Taggart and his staff. Players were more than excited about what has taken place so far – and the fans in garnet and gold seem to also be all in on what is going on.

Apparently, the families of those players are also buying what they are hearing – with one going big on a early season prediction.

Frederick Brown, the father of junior linebacker Josh Brown, has not been shy on social media when it comes to talking up FSU football – not just the play of his son, but the entire team. From bashing the Gators to hyping the Seminoles, Brown knows no chill. So, earlier this week, he made a prediction for the Seminoles and the Hokies.

Oh, wow. I did not see that one coming.

I mean, right now I am willing to say that baring a major injury I think FSU football will win the opener against their ACC Coastal Division foes, but I don’t know if I am willing to go all in on a  25 point beatdown just yet.

You know what, though? Big credit to Frederick Brown. He has no problem saying that the Taggart era of lethal simplicty is going to be one that starts with a bang and the Seminoles come out of the gate with a blowout victory. Now, can the team back it up on the field? Only time will tell.
