FSU recruiting is low-key laying a solid foundation for the 2019 class and beyond.

FSU recruiting is all about getting young men to visit Tallahassee to see their home away from home. It was that way under the previous regime, and the same will hold true of Willie Taggart and company.

Those that follow college football recruiting will tell you to follow the visits. If a young man visits a school multiple times, that’s a sign he’s strongly considering committing there.

It’s no different from a two people dating, the more you see one another, the more you’re likely to get involved and/or become a couple right?

We’ve touched on the recruiting strategy of Willie Taggart already, as he wants to be selective while building relationships with those select few and their parents.

The campus visit is a vital part in making the happen, and the coaching staff have wasted no time in beginning to lay the foundation to the 2019 class and beyond.

They hosted an elite group of players for their junior day a few weeks back and have already began to have selected players visit campus recently. Here’s a short list off to take note of that have been or plan to be on campus in the near future:

  • Akeem Dent (5-star No. 16 overall 2019 DB commit)
  • Trey Sanders (5-star No. 6 overall 2019 RB recruit)
  • Taisun Phommachanh (4-star No. 111 overall 2019 QB recruit)
  • Arian Smith (unranked 2020 ATH recruit)
  • John Dunmore (4-star No. 121 overall 2019 WR recruit)
  • Timothy Robinson (unranked 2019 OL recruit)
  • Kendall Milton (unranked 2020 RB recruit)
  • Maurice Gooslby (4-star No. 178 overall WR 2019 recruit)
  • Jaquavion Fraziars (unranked 2020 ATH recruit)

Thoughts

Getting FSU commit Akeem Dent to attend the first practice is huge all in of itself, but the fact they got a top QB target in Taisun Phommachanh to visit practice speaks volumes about how this staff moves.

These are the types of visits that allow the players to see how things really work and the chance to see how they are going to be coached.

The practice atmosphere was electric by all accounts and there’s a reason why a lot of folk believe Phommachanh could ultimately end up at FSU.

As you can see there’s a number of 2020 recruits in that listed as well which is important to start building those relationships as they go back and tell their teammates what the FSU experience is like.

So keep following those visits if you’re relatively new to the recruiting game, as they are great indicators of where FSU stands with a recruit.
